My Erasmus semester in Kalisz, Poland, as a Nursing student at the Faculty of Medicine was more than an academic exchange it was a quiet transformation. Living and studying in a new country taught me lessons no textbook could offer: adaptability, resilience, and the value of human connection in unfamiliar environments. In the classrooms and clinical settings, I was exposed to different perspectives on healthcare and patient care, which challenged the way I think as a future nurse.

Outside the university, Kalisz became the place where strangers turned into friends and everyday moments turned into lasting memories. Sharing late conversations, cultural differences, and mutual support with students from around the world shaped my understanding of teamwork, empathy, and global citizenship.

This experience did not simply add a semester to my studies; it reshaped my confidence, my goals, and my vision for the kind of healthcare professional and person I aspire to become. Kalisz will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was a place where I faced challenges, gained independence, and discovered new opportunities for the future.
