My semester in Poland was truly an unforgettable experience. Living in a new country for several months taught me so much about myself and the world around me. At first, it was a little overwhelming with the new language, culture, and routines, but over time I found my rhythm and grew more confident and independent than I ever expected.

One of the best parts of the experience was the people I met along the way. I made amazing friendships with students from different countries, and those connections made everything feel warmer and more meaningful. We shared so many laughs, supported each other through the tough days, and explored new places together. Those friendships are something I’ll always cherish.

I’m also really thankful to the university for being so welcoming and supportive throughout my stay. It made a huge difference to feel like I was part of a community, especially when everything around me felt new and unfamiliar. Even though it was a short period it was also wonderful to work with international relations office! They were always so supportive and kind during my volunteering period.

Looking back, this journey gave me much more than academic knowledge. It gave me memories, life skills, and a new perspective on what it means to step outside your comfort zone. Poland will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’m so grateful for the time I spent there.

Spending a semester as an Erasmus+ student in Kalisz was a life-changing chapter for me. It was my first time living away from home, and I quickly learned how to adapt, grow, and find joy in new experiences. Kalisz may be a small city, but it offered big opportunities: from making lifelong friendships and exploring Polish culture, to learning in a supportive academic environment. This journey taught me not only about my studies but also about myself, how strong, curious, and open I can be when I step out of my comfort zone.

I am delighted with fulfilling my Erasmus+ dream in Kalisz. I am satisfied with not only the city but also my teachers and coordinator. All teachers paid attention to us always. They were very wisdom in their education field and my coordinator is really helpful, kind and supportive. If I had a chance to involve in Erasmus+ programme again, I would definitely choose Kalisz again. Thanks to Erasmus+ programme, I learnt new cultures, made new friends, tasted different meals. Besides my education in Poland, I was also able to travel a lot of countries thanks to my Erasmus+ mobility.

To sum up, everything in my Erasmus+ mobility was marvelous. I am exceedingly satisfied with my teachers, my coordinators, my friends and my memories. I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone, especially my coordinator Mrs. Monika Gustowska.

If you are going to come to Kalisz for your Erasmus+ programme, you will definitely collect a lot of good memories.

My stay in Kalisz was truly a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Living there gave me the opportunity to grow in so many ways. I became much more confident and independent, and I learned to rely on myself in situations I never thought I could handle before. It was a period of real personal growth, both emotionally and mentally.

One of the things I value most from this experience is the incredible friendships I made along the way. I met people from different backgrounds who supported me, inspired me, and made every moment even more special. These friendships made my time in Kalisz feel like home, and I know they will stay with me for a long time.

I’m especially grateful to the University of Kalisz for making me feel so welcome and supported throughout my entire journey. From the very beginning, I felt like I was part of a community that truly cared. Their guidance and kindness played a huge role in making this experience so meaningful and successful for me.

Looking back, I’m deeply thankful for everything this journey has given me — not just the memories, but also the strength, lessons, and connections that will continue to shape who I am.

Spending time in Kalisz has been one of the most valuable and unforgettable experiences of my academic journey. I truly enjoyed the beauty and calm atmosphere of the city. The professors at the university were not only knowledgeable but also genuinely supportive and attentive to students, which greatly enriched my learning experience.

Thanks to this opportunity, I was also able to travel and explore several other countries, expanding my horizons and gaining a deeper understanding of different cultures. My time in Kalisz has helped me grow both personally and academically, and I will always look back on it with gratitude and joy.

Thank you so much for all your help, kindness, and support throughout this experience — and for everything else you’ve done. I truly appreciate it.

My name is Mihai and I am a second-year student at the Faculty of Economic and Business Engineering at the Technical University of Moldova. In the spring semester, I participated in the Erasmus+ program at University of Kalisz – a truly new and unforgettable experience for me. It was the first time I went so far from home, without family and friends. This challenge helped me develop important skills to adapt to a new environment, become more independent and gain more self-confidence.

The Erasmus+ program gave me a different perspective on education and helped me greatly improve my English skills. All classes and daily communication were in English, which helped me become more fluent and confident in speaking. I found the teaching method in Poland more interactive and practical than the one I was used to in Moldova. I also had the chance to meet international students from different countries, learn about new traditions and make valuable friends that I will keep even after the mobility ends. The city of Kalisz is quiet, with many parks and perfect places for relaxation and study. Due to its location, it was easy for me to travel and visit other Polish cities such as Warsaw, Wrocław, Krakow, Poznań, Gdańsk, Sopot and Gołuchów Castle. I also had the chance to visit other countries: France, Monaco, Italy and Germany. The Erasmus+ scholarship is enough to cover living expenses and even travel costs. The university dormitory has decent conditions, with a gym, a pool table, a kitchen on each floor and common spaces for relaxation. Public transport is well developed and accessible. Another very positive thing was that Erasmus students were involved in numerous festivals and events organized by the university. Thanks to these activities, I never felt like an outsider – I felt like part of a warm and active international community.

I also have great respect for the university professors, who helped us easily integrate into the Polish education system and showed professionalism and openness towards international students. This experience helped me become more mature, more open to other cultures and more flexible in my thinking. I learned that no matter how big the world is, we can always find things in common. The key is communication, curiosity and respect.

My Erasmus+ friends were extraordinary people. The best moments were the ones we shared – playing board games, watching films or going on spontaneous trips. I remember with a smile how, right after we arrived and not knowing much, we decided to travel to another city. We did surprisingly well and created an unforgettable memory. Other times, I bought train tickets at the last minute and traveled for hours standing – but it didn’t matter because we were together.

In conclusion, I can say with all confidence that Erasmus+ is not just a study program in a foreign country. It is a chance to discover the world, discover yourself and build connections and memories for a lifetime. If you have the chance to participate – don’t hesitate. It can change your life, just like it changed mine.

My name is Violetta, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ program. Thanks to University of Kalisz, I was able to deepen my understanding of my subjects, improve my English skills, and gain invaluable academic experience.

Beyond academics, this program was an amazing chance to travel, explore new cultures, and exchange experiences with people from different countries. The friendships I built during this journey were truly special. I loved the time spent with my fellow students—we shared unforgettable moments, supported each other, and learned so much from one another.

This experience has also helped me grow as a person. I have expanded my social circle, overcome my fear of meeting new people, and learned to navigate unfamiliar environments with confidence. Living abroad taught me independence, adaptability, and the ability to quickly orient myself in new situations.

Erasmus+ was more than just an educational program for me—it was a life-changing adventure that broadened my horizons and gave me memories I will cherish forever.

Spending a semester in Poland through the Erasmus+ program was an incredible experience that gave me the chance to grow academically, personally, and culturally. It was an opportunity to study in a different educational system, engage with diverse perspectives, and adapt to new situations—all of which I believe will benefit me in both my personal life and future nursing career.

Kalisz, in particular, provided an excellent environment for learning. In my experience, the city’s manageable size made it easy to navigate and quickly feel familiar. Everything I needed for student life was accessible, and the university setting allowed me to focus on both my studies and personal development. The academic experience was enriching, giving me the chance to gain knowledge from my faculty as well as from other disciplines. Having access to different learning approaches and perspectives was truly valuable.

In my academic life, I found support whenever I needed it. The people within the university—whether professors, staff, or fellow students—were always willing to help, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Living in the dormitories also added to the experience, as it provided a sense of community and the chance to form meaningful connections with others. It was a place where I could share experiences, learn from those around me, and create lasting friendships.

Overall, my Erasmus+ experience was unforgettable. It allowed me to develop independence, broaden my perspective, and immerse myself in a dynamic, international environment. The experiences, knowledge, and friendships I gained throughout this journey are things I will always carry with me. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and for everything I learned along the way.

To reflect this experience further, I am sharing some moments captured throughout the semester. You can view and download them using the link below.

Spending five months in Poland as an exchange student was a life-changing experience that broadened my perspective on the world. It was more than just an academic program—it was an adventure filled with learning, self-discovery, and cultural exploration. From my studies in Kalisz to my travels across Europe, every moment was an opportunity to grow and experience something new.

I was based in Kalisz, where I enjoyed academic life in a completely new environment. Studying there allowed me to experience a different education system, engage in interesting discussions, and learn from both professors and fellow students. The international setting helped me develop a broader perspective on global issues and improved my ability to adapt to new challenges.

The experience also helped me become a more independent person. I had to manage my time effectively, balance my studies with social activities, and step out of my comfort zone to participate in academic events. These challenges made me more responsible and helped me develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that I know will be valuable in the future.

One of the most exciting parts of my exchange experience was the opportunity to travel across Europe. Being in Poland made it easy to visit different countries, and I took full advantage of that. I explored major cities, each offering its own unique charm and history. Walking through the streets of these cities, I visited world-famous landmarks, and experienced diverse cultures.

Living in a foreign country for five months was not always easy, but it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. At first, I faced challenges such as adapting to a new culture, dealing with language barriers, and being away from home. However, as time passed, I became more comfortable and started to see these challenges as opportunities for growth. I developed a strong sense of independence. I learned to rely on myself, make important decisions, and step outside my comfort zone. I became more open-minded, understanding that different cultures have different ways of thinking, living, and interacting. This experience shaped me into a more confident, adaptable, and globally aware individual.

Looking back, my five months in Poland were filled with unforgettable memories, valuable lessons, and lifelong friendships. The experience changed me in ways I never expected. I returned home with a greater appreciation for cultural diversity, a stronger sense of self, and a new outlook on life. This exchange program was not just about studying in a different country—it was about embracing new opportunities, exploring the world, and discovering who I am. Poland will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am incredibly grateful for the chance to be part of such a meaningful journey.

I thank University of Kalisz for the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ program. I met a lot of good people from different countries, and most importantly, I received the knowledge of qualified teachers from Poland. I would like to express special gratitude to Monika and Halina and Vladislava for the support provided throughout the entire academic mobility.
