Hello. I am Karyna, a student of Kharkiv Polytechnic University, Ukraine. I got the chance to experience the Erasmus+ program at University of Kalisz. Studying at the university was interesting and full of various activities.

It was truly an incredible time. I can confidently say that during these 4 months I lived a small life filled with a lot of pleasant and unforgettable memories.

I visited four new countries for me: Poland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. For the first time in my life, I flew by plane and was excited by these incredible views. I saw the Norwegian fjords, the famous Little Mermaid monument in Denmark, enjoyed walking around Stockholm and tried venison for the first time in my life.

I also had the opportunity to travel to the cities of Poland. I visited Wroclaw, Warsaw, Gdańsk, Poznań, Gdynia, Lodz, Ostrów Wielkopolski and, of course, Kalisz. During my time in Poland, I had the opportunity to enjoy both still warm days and frosty ones. So I had time to go to the seaside in Gdansk in October and to visit the Christmas markets in Wroclaw.

Of course, I want to say a few words about Kalisz. This city became my home for 4 months. It is comfortable and cozy. The city has everything you need for life, two shopping centers, a park, cafes and restaurants, an aquapark, cinemas, fitness clubs, a swimming pool. So, you’ll definitely be able to find an activity to your liking.

Also, summing up, I want to thank all the people I met during my exchange program. Thank you for the pleasant memories that will remain with me for the rest of my life.

Kalisz was for me a unique experience. I got to see lots of cool sites, different people, and styles. Clear blue skies and green parks were the signature of the city. At first, it was a struggle to adapt to the new environment and new faces, but being together in one place allowed us to know each other better and become friends. Spending time with both Polish and Erasmus+ students gave me a glimpse of different cultures, perspectives, and generally different lives.

The lectures were great and I got to learn a lot from the professors both academically and socially.

Thank you for becoming one of my best memories.

I left Mozambique with many expectations, as I was convinced that the adventure in Kalisz would be of great transformation for me. And it really was!

I start with the classes, they were good and Calisia University organized the activities well, with a schedule that allowed us to explore the city, the country and the continent in general.

The interaction with professors and classmates from different parts of the world was excellent.

I was able to travel to some places and get to know other realities.

I come back to my country with a lot learned and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this program to any student who wants to spend time outside his comfort zone.

Kalisz may seem as an old city but it has a lot to offer. During my mobility there under Erasmus+ program I had the chance to explore Kalisz in details and I was impressed.

It had many cultural places, many things that you don’t normally see in other cities. The professors were very kind and professional. I had a great time studying there. The people in Kalisz are very kind and they would help me with everything. During the mobility I had the chance to meet a lot of new people of different nationalities and it was amazing. I tried food from different cultures.

Polish language was a little bit hard until I learned a few phrases that would help me a lot in everyday situations.

Overall I would say that it was worth coming to Kalisz as an exchange student and I hope I can visit it again in the future!
